Tilefish

Lopholatilus chamaeleonticeps · Fish

Tilefish are bottom-dwelling marine fish of the family Malacanthidae, of which the golden tilefish (Lopholatilus chamaeleonticeps) of the U.S. Atlantic is the largest and most commercially important. Its firm, white, sweet flesh — often compared to lobster or crab because the fish feeds heavily on crustaceans — makes it a prized eating fish, though as a long-lived predator it carries some of the highest mercury levels of any commonly eaten fish.
