Governor's plum (Flacourtia indica), also called Madagascar plum, ramontchi or Indian plum, is a small, dark-red to purple-black tropical fruit of the willow family (Salicaceae). Borne on a thorny shrub or small tree across Africa and tropical Asia, it is sweet-tart and faintly astringent, eaten fresh or made into jams, jellies and fermented drinks.
