Yellow mombin (Spondias mombin), also called hog plum, cajá, jobo or yellow hog plum, is a small oval tropical fruit of the cashew family (Anacardiaceae). Thin-skinned and golden when ripe, with soft, intensely aromatic sweet-sour pulp clinging to a large fibrous stone, it is prized less for out-of-hand eating than for the tart, fragrant juices, ice creams and preserves made across Latin America, the Caribbean, West Africa and tropical Asia.
