Carnuntum

Carnuntum is the fuller, more structured face of Zweigelt: a dry red from the warm, wind-swept hills east of Vienna where Austria's signature grape ripens to dark cherry and plum rather than lean sour-cherry, gaining a gentle tannic grip and a savoury, spicy depth while keeping the variety's fresh acidity. It is Carnuntum's flagship red and, since 2019, the linchpin of the region's top-tier "Rubin Carnuntum" and DAC classifications.
