Corsica (Vermentinu)

Vermentinu is the flagship white of Corsica, the mountainous French island in the Mediterranean between Provence and Tuscany. Grown on sun-baked granite, schist and limestone slopes and cooled by sea breezes, it makes a dry, textured, sappy white scented with pear, wild fennel, citrus and the herbs of the maquis, finished with a saline tang and the grape's signature green-almond grip.
