Douro (dry red)

Douro Touriga Nacional is the powerful, floral face of Portugal's finest red grape turned into unfortified table wine: a deeply coloured, structured red from the terraced schist slopes of the Douro Valley, all violet and bergamot perfume over ripe blackberry, black plum and rock-rose, framed by dense, firm tannin and fresh acidity. It is the grape most prized for Port, here made dry — concentrated, savoury and built to age.
