Côte-Rôtie (Northern Rhône Syrah)

Côte-Rôtie — the "roasted slope" — is the most perfumed and elegant face of Northern Rhône Syrah: a dark, silky, floral red of black raspberry, violets, bacon-fat and cracked black pepper, grown on precipitous south-facing granite terraces above the Rhône and often co-fermented with a whisper of the white grape Viognier.
