Rheingau Riesling is the powerful, dry face of German Riesling: a fuller, weightier wine than its featherweight Mosel cousin, grown where the Rhine turns west and the vineyards face due south into the sun. It marries ripe peach, apple and citrus to a firm, slaty minerality and a racy backbone of acidity, and — since the region led Germany's turn back to bone-dry (trocken) wine — it is most often vinified fully dry and structured to age.
