Riesling from the Mosel is Germany's signature white: a featherweight, off-dry wine of piercing acidity, gentle sweetness and crystalline aromas of lime, green apple and white peach, grown on near-vertical slopes of blue-grey slate. In the classic Kabinett style it is barely 8–9% alcohol, low enough to drink at lunch, yet it ages for decades and develops a famous note of petrol.
