Alto Adige (Pinot Grigio)

Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is the serious, mountain-grown end of Italian Pinot Grigio: a crisp, bone-dry alpine white from the far north of Italy, made from the grey-skinned Pinot Gris grape on steep, high-altitude slopes. Where the flatland Grigio of the Veneto is built for easy, neutral refreshment, the Alto Adige style trades a little of that simplicity for concentration, cut and a saline, stony freshness — green apple, pear and citrus over a taut mineral line.
