Noto

Noto is the historic heartland of Nero d'Avola, in the sun-baked south-eastern corner of Sicily around the towns of Noto, Avola and Pachino — the very ground the "black grape of Avola" is named for. Here the variety gives its warmest, most generous face: a deeply coloured, full-bodied red brimming with ripe black cherry, plum and liquorice over soft, sun-baked spice and velvety tannin.
