Roero

Roero is the softer, more perfumed face of Nebbiolo: a red from the sandy left-bank hills of Piedmont, directly across the Tanaro river from Barolo and Barbaresco, that trades their brooding power for a lighter, more aromatic and earlier-drinking style. Grown on ancient marine sands rather than the Langhe's calcareous marl, it leads with raspberry, red cherry, rose and violet over fine, gentle tannin.
