Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is the deep, cherry-pink rosé face of Montepulciano: a dry, vividly coloured Italian rosato from the warm Adriatic hills of Abruzzo, fuller and more savoury than most pale pinks. Its name comes from cerasa, dialect for cherry, and the wine lives up to it — red cherry and watermelon fruit with fresh herbs, a saline edge and a gently tannic grip that most rosés never show.
