Villány Kékfrankos

Villány Kékfrankos is the warm, ripe, structured southern face of Hungary's flagship red grape: a full-bodied dry red from Villány, the country's hottest and sunniest fine-wine region on the Croatian border, where a near-Mediterranean climate and limestone-and-loess slopes push the high-acid, peppery variety towards deeper colour, riper black-cherry fruit and rounder, more velvety tannin than its cool northern cousins.
