Eger

Eger Kékfrankos is the cool, high-toned northern face of Hungary's flagship red grape: a bright, medium-bodied dry wine of red cherry, blackcurrant and marked black-pepper spice, its fruit lifted by the racy acidity and mineral tension of a cool, volcanic-soil region in the foothills of the Bükk mountains. Above all it is the acidic, peppery backbone of Eger's legendary blend Egri Bikavér — the "Bull's Blood of Eger".
