Kremstal is the structured, spicy face of Grüner Veltliner: a bone-dry Austrian white grown around the town of Krems an der Donau, just east of the Wachau, where deep wind-blown loess and steep primary-rock terraces give a fuller, more mineral wine than the grape's lighter styles. Expect green apple and citrus lifted by a firm crack of white pepper, framed by taut, stony acidity.
