Gigondas

Gigondas is the sturdier, more structured face of Southern Rhône Grenache: a Grenache-led GSM red grown on the cooler, higher slopes at the foot of the jagged Dentelles de Montmirail. Often cast as Châteauneuf-du-Pape's more rugged neighbour, it keeps the warm, garrigue-scented red fruit of the region but adds firmer tannin, fresher acidity and a stony, spicy grip.
