Calatayud

Calatayud is the high-altitude, old-vine face of Garnacha (Grenache): a fresher, more elegant expression from the cool, stony hills of Aragon in northeastern Spain. Where warm-plains Garnacha is soft and jammy, the altitude and rocky slate-and-limestone soils here preserve acidity and lift, giving vivid raspberry and red cherry fruit over dried herbs, warm spice and a stony, mineral finish.
