Alto Adige (Südtirol)

Alto Adige Gewürztraminer comes from the grape's ancestral homeland — the alpine vineyards around Tramin (Termeno) in Italy's German-speaking far north — and shows a fresher, drier, more mineral face of the variety than Alsace: the same explosive lychee, rose and Turkish-delight spice, but kept lifted and vibrant by cool mountain acidity.
