Brouilly is the largest and most southerly of the ten Beaujolais crus: a juicy, easygoing red made from Gamay on the granite and blue-stone slopes around Mont Brouilly in southern Burgundy. Pale, bright ruby and gently perfumed, it pours out crunchy red and blue fruit — cherry, raspberry, plum and blueberry — over high, mouthwatering acidity and soft, low tannin, the friendliest and most gulpable of the crus, at its best served with a slight chill.
