Dolcetto d'Alba

Dolcetto d'Alba is the everyday red of the Langhe: a soft, deeply purple, low-acid dry red made from the Dolcetto grape on the cooler slopes around Alba, in the same Piedmontese hills that give Barolo and Barbaresco. It is the wine locals pour young and often — fruit-forward with blackberry, black cherry and liquorice, and closed by Dolcetto's signature faintly bitter, almond-like twist on the finish.
