Crémant is French traditional-method sparkling wine made outside Champagne — in Alsace, the Loire, Burgundy, Limoux, Bordeaux, the Jura, Die and Savoie — a bottle-fermented, appellation-controlled category that delivers the toast, fine bubbles and bracing acidity of the methode traditionnelle at a friendlier price. Each region draws on its own grapes and soils, so Crémant is less a single wine than a family of dry, food-friendly sparklers united by how they are made.
