Meursault is the great rich, oaked white Burgundy: a dry Chardonnay from the village of Meursault in the Cote de Beaune, famed for its broad, buttery, nutty weight and aromas of hazelnut, toasted almond, butter and ripe stone fruit. The largest and most opulent of the Cote de Beaune white villages, it has no grand cru of its own yet rivals neighbouring Puligny-Montrachet, and its name is shorthand for the lush, golden, barrel-aged face of Chardonnay.
