Cachapoal is one of the warmest, ripest homes of Carménère, a sun-drenched Andean-foothill valley in the northern half of Chile's Rapel region that coaxes this late-ripening Bordeaux grape to full maturity. Its wines are richly concentrated and smooth — ripe black plum and blackberry with mocha, sweet red-pepper spice and just a whisper of the grape's green edge — over a rounded, well-fruited, medium-to-full body.
