Carignano del Sulcis

Carignano del Sulcis is the warm, supple, sun-soaked face of Carignan: a Mediterranean red from the sandy south-western corner of Sardinia, where ungrafted old bush vines grow almost on the beach. Riper and softer than the grape's rugged mainland cousins, it trades biting acidity and rustic tannin for plush red and dark fruit, wild-herb maquis and a gentle saline warmth.
