Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon is South Africa's flagship red: a warm-climate, firmly structured expression of Cabernet from the granite and shale hillsides of the Cape Winelands, just inland from Cape Town. It marries ripe cassis and dark plum to gripping tannin, cedar-and-vanilla oak and a savoury, faintly smoky, dried-herb "fynbos" edge unique to the Cape, giving a bold yet food-friendly wine built for grilled meat and the cellar alike.
