Margaux is the perfumed Médoc: the southernmost of the great Left Bank communes, where Cabernet Sauvignon trades some of Pauillac's power for scent and finesse. Violets and rose lift over blackcurrant and red fruit, and the tannin — still high, still Cabernet — arrives silkier and finer-grained. It holds more 1855 classified growths than any other commune, led by the First Growth Château Margaux.
