Eisenberg is the wiry, iron-mineral face of Blaufränkisch: a bone-dry red from Südburgenland, Austria's smallest wine region, grown on iron-rich green slate and schist in the hills near the Hungarian border. Where the fuller Mittelburgenland style runs to ripe, oak-aged power, Eisenberg trades weight for tension — cool, peppery, high-acid dark-berry fruit on a lean, ferrous, distinctly mineral frame.
