Barbera del Monferrato is the bright, juicy, often lightly frizzante face of Piedmont's Barbera grape, grown on the calcareous marl hills of the Monferrato between Asti and Alessandria — Barbera's ancestral home. A dry, deep-ruby red built on the grape's hallmark very high acidity and soft, low tannin, it is fruit-forward and refreshing, the archetypal everyday wine of the Piedmontese table.
