Taurasi

Taurasi is the benchmark expression of Aglianico and the flagship red of inland Campania — a powerful, slow-maturing wine from the high Irpinia hills so austere and long-lived it is nicknamed the "Barolo of the South." Grown at altitude on clay-limestone and volcanic soils and aged for years before release, it marries black cherry, leather, ash and tobacco to searing acidity and towering, mouth-drying tannin.
