Ward Eight
The Ward Eight is a classic Boston sour — rye or bourbon whiskey shaken with fresh lemon and orange juice and a splash of grenadine, then strained up or served over ice. Rosy-pink and citrus-bright, it is a whiskey sour dressed up with orange and pomegranate, a hometown drink named for one of the political wards of nineteenth-century Boston.

Pomegranate
Rosy-pink in the glass, the Ward Eight smells of bright fresh lemon and sweet orange lifted by the jammy pomegranate of grenadine, with the grain, caramel and gentle spice of whiskey underneath. On the palate it is a rounded, fruity sour — sharp lemon acidity softened by orange and sweetened by grenadine — set against a warm whiskey backbone, finishing tart, faintly spicy and clean at around 20 percent alcohol in the glass.
