Triple sec is a clear, colourless orange-flavoured liqueur made by distilling or macerating the dried peels of sweet and bitter oranges in neutral spirit and sweetening the result. The name means "triple-dry," and bottlings range widely in strength — roughly 15–40% ABV — from inexpensive bar staples up to premium relatives like Cointreau. It is the orange backbone of the Margarita, the Cosmopolitan and the Sidecar.
