Tequila Reposado
Reposado, Spanish for rested, is tequila that has spent a short spell in oak — long enough to soften the bright, peppery edge of fresh blue-agave spirit and pull on a light gold colour, but not so long that the wood buries the agave. It is the middle ground of the tequila family, where the earthy, citrus-clean character of blanco meets the first whispers of vanilla, caramel and warm spice from the barrel.

A pale-gold spirit of around 38 to 40 percent alcohol with a warming alcoholic heat and a gentle peppery pungency over cooked-agave sweetness and a light bitter-herbal grip. The short oak rest rounds the bright, vegetal edge of blanco, layering vanilla, butterscotch and light caramel with a clean lemony lift and a dusting of baking spice, for a softer, sweeter, longer finish that sits between crisp blanco and oakier anejo.
