Tequila Blanco

Tequila blanco — also called silver or plata — is tequila bottled clear and young, either straight off the still or rested only briefly, with no oak to veil it. It is the purest, most vivid expression of cooked blue agave: bright, peppery and citrus-fresh over a sweet vegetal core, the unfiltered voice of the spirit before any barrel speaks. This is the tequila of the margarita and the paloma, and the one that best shows what the agave and the land it grew in really taste like.

by taste profile
A clear, colourless spirit of about 38 to 40 percent alcohol with a strong, warming alcoholic heat and a peppery pungency over a light cooked-agave sweetness and a faint bitter-herbal grip. With no oak to round it, blanco is the brightest and most agave-forward tequila — earthy, vegetal and citrus-fresh, leaner and sharper than the gold reposado and anejo, finishing clean and peppery rather than sweet or woody.
