Teh Tarik

Teh tarik, literally "pulled tea," is the strong, sweet, milky tea of Malaysia and Singapore — a robust black tea brewed dark, cut with condensed and evaporated milk, and then aerated by being poured back and forth in a long arc between two vessels until it wears a thick, frothy head. It is the everyday drink of the mamak stall and the kopitiam, served hot and sweet at any hour.

by taste profile
A hot glass of teh tarik reads first as brisk, tannic black tea overlaid with the cooked, caramel-sweet scent of condensed milk, a malty depth and a soft creamy froth on top; the taste is frankly sweet and milky with a firm bitter-astringent tea backbone cutting through, ending warm and lightly drying.
