Sesame brittle

Confection

Sesame brittle is a thin, crisp confection of toasted sesame seeds (and often other nuts) bound in a hardened sheet of caramelised sugar, honey or jaggery. Known as pasteli in Greece and the eastern Mediterranean, as til-chikki, til-gur or til-patti across the Indian subcontinent, and by many local names from Turkey to China, it is one of the world's oldest and most widespread honey-and-seed sweets.
