The Sea Breeze is a tall, refreshing vodka highball built over ice from vodka, cranberry juice and grapefruit juice, garnished with a wedge of lime. It is one of a small family of easygoing cranberry-and-vodka drinks — the cousin of the Cape Codder, which drops the grapefruit, and the Bay Breeze, which swaps the grapefruit for pineapple. Pink, tart and faintly bitter, it is a long, low-effort summer drink rather than a delicate shaken sour, and it rose to popularity in the 1970s and 1980s on the back of Ocean Spray's cranberry marketing. The International Bartenders Association lists it among its Contemporary Classics.
