Saturn
The Saturn is a rare gin-based tiki classic — gin brightened with fresh lemon, passion-fruit syrup, orgeat and falernum, blended with crushed ice and served in a tiki bowl or coupe. Frothy, pale gold and tart-tropical, it is one of the very few exotic drinks built on gin rather than rum, and it was crowned the World's Best Drink at a 1967 bartenders' contest.

Pale gold and lightly frothy from the blend, the Saturn smells of vivid passion fruit and fresh lemon over the marzipan-and-orange-flower sweetness of orgeat, with a warm clove-lime-and-ginger lift from the falernum and dry juniper gin humming underneath. On the palate it is tart-tropical and softly sweet — passion fruit and lemon acidity balanced against nutty almond syrup and spiced falernum — with a gentle botanical dryness from the gin and a clean, fruity finish. At around 15 percent alcohol it drinks deceptively easily, the fruit and sweetness masking a genuinely spirituous tiki cooler.
