Wonderful pomegranate
Punica granatum · Fruit
Top 10 pairings
Wonderful is the pomegranate the modern world knows — the large, deep ruby-red cultivar that fills supermarket bins and almost every bottle of pomegranate juice. Its thick, leathery rind, flushed from rose to an intense purple-red, caps unusually large, glassy crimson arils that burst with a bracing sweet-tart juice. Vigorous, heavy-cropping and a strong shipper, it has become the single most-planted commercial pomegranate on Earth.
