Spirit-forward and bittersweet, the Old Fashioned leads with the whiskey's vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, lightly sweetened by the dissolved sugar and given a dry, spicy backbone of Angostura baking spice. A bright twist of expressed orange or lemon oil floats over the top. The texture is silky and warming, kept long and slowly diluting by the large ice cube, finishing dry, oaky and warm with a faint citrus-bitters edge.
