Nannyberry is the sweet, blue-black fruit of Viburnum lentago, a tall native shrub or small tree of eastern and central North America. Botanically a single-seeded drupe rather than a true berry, it ripens in autumn to a thin, prune-like flesh that tastes of dates and raisins around one large, flat stone.
