Muntries (Kunzea pomifera), also called emu apple, muntary, munthari, native cranberry or "monterry," are small speckled green-to-purple berries from a trailing, mat-forming myrtle shrub native to the coastal heaths of southern Australia. Roughly pea-sized, crisp and dry, they carry a distinctive spicy, apple-like flavour that has made them one of the best known of the native bushfoods.
