Margarita

The margarita is the most famous tequila cocktail in the world — a tequila sour, built from blanco tequila, fresh lime and orange liqueur, served in a salt-rimmed glass. It is tart, bright and agave-forward, the drink that carried tequila out of Mexico and onto bars everywhere, and the benchmark by which most agave cocktails are still judged. Equal parts refreshment and ritual, it pairs the clean bite of lime against the sweetness of orange and the earthy pepper of agave, framed by a rim of salt.
