Limoncello

Limoncello is a bright, sweet-tart Southern Italian liqueur made by steeping lemon zest in neutral spirit and blending the infusion with sugar syrup. Pale yellow and intensely lemon-scented, it is traditionally served ice-cold in a small chilled glass as an after-dinner digestivo.

Sweet and intensely lemony with only a faint tart lift, limoncello leads with bright, fresh lemon-zest oil over a rounded sugar-syrup sweetness, finishing with a clean, warming alcohol kick at around 30 percent; served ice-cold it tastes thick, fresh and zesty with the alcohol burn softened by the chill.
