Katuk

Sauropus androgynus · Leafy green

Katuk (Sauropus androgynus) is a tropical leafy-green shrub of the Phyllanthaceae family, grown across Southeast Asia for its tender young shoots and oval dark-green leaves. Known as sweet leaf, star gooseberry or cekur manis, it is one of the most protein- and nutrient-dense leaf vegetables of the humid tropics, eaten stir-fried, in soups and as a pot-herb.
