Grumichama

Eugenia brasiliensis · Tropical fruit

Grumichama (Eugenia brasiliensis), also called Brazil cherry or grumixama, is a small cherry-like fruit from a slow-growing myrtle-family tree native to the Atlantic coastal forest of southern Brazil. Ripening from green through scarlet to glossy near-black, its soft, melting flesh tastes sweet and mildly aromatic, somewhere between a sweet cherry and a plum.
