Fromage blanc ("white cheese") is a fresh, unripened soft cheese from France and Belgium, a smooth, spoonable curd with the consistency of thick yogurt. Mild and gently tangy, it is eaten on its own — plain, sweetened with sugar or honey, or topped with fruit — and folded into both desserts and savoury sauces.
