Crème de Mûre
Crème de mûre is a dark, sweet French blackberry liqueur — mûre is French for "blackberry" — made by macerating the berries in spirit and sweetening the infusion heavily; despite the word crème it contains no cream, the term marking a very high sugar content rather than any dairy, and it is best known today as the modifier that gives the Bramble cocktail its bleeding purple streak.

Berry
Intensely sweet and syrupy, crème de mûre leads with a deep, ripe blackberry-jam aroma over a brambly, faintly seedy edge and a dark berry-tart lift that keeps it from cloying. The colour is inky purple, the texture viscous and rounded, and the alcohol soft and warming for a liqueur at around fifteen to twenty percent ABV. A gentle tannic, pippy grip on the finish recalls the wild berry itself, and the aftertaste lingers sweet, jammy and darkly fruity.
