Cosmopolitan

The Cosmopolitan — the Cosmo — is a vodka cocktail of the daiquiri and sour family, built from citrus vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and fresh lime, shaken hard and strained ice-cold into a stemmed cocktail glass. It is a clean, pretty drink — pale rose-pink, tart and lightly sweet, fragrant with citrus — and one of the defining cocktails of the 1990s, the glamorous order that helped bring shaken cocktails back into fashion.
