Cocoplum (Chrysobalanus icaco), also called icaco, paradise plum or fat pork, is a coastal tropical American shrub whose rounded, thin-skinned fruit ripens from pale white through pink to deep purple-black — mild, faintly sweet and cottony-soft around a single large seed, eaten fresh but far more often stewed into the jams and preserves of the Caribbean and West Africa.
